I cannot sleep a wink,
I cannot help but think,
We should be side by side,
Our eyes open wide.

We should be together,
Whatever the weather,
We should be hand in hand,
Don’t you understand?

I need you here now,
To massage my brow,
To wipe away the pain,
To chase away the rain.

That’s pouring in my heart,
Whenever we’re apart,
So I’ll be content to dream,
You’re next to me like steam,
You appear to me like mist,
In my heart you do exist.
