In A Night's Flowering Poem by emily humphries

In A Night's Flowering

It's not all about you anymore
It's not all about me either
I felt your gravity pull me around like a planet
But then when I realised this
My own sun
This loop you had swung around me fast, loosened
And I was thrown through unknown spaces
On my truthful path where now
I can see constellations of my own.

My old orbit
Hopping recklessly between Cancer and Virgo
Was cut from the womb of your androgyny
Bloodied with the handcuffs of my own wanting arms.
Your shiny little teeth
Sharply and instinctively chewed out my left ventricle
And pushed in for me
Air for my Inferno

Unbridled lover
Stretching out your own sex.
Your indivisible and pulsing mappings
Occasionally snatch at me, suggest an illumination.
I still feel you humming there
Unsentimental and celestial.
The laws, which are beyond and between me
Sparkle through my star motion
The memory of your hearts form
Dragged a thousand fractured shells
Deep at my oceans knees
Whispered dust across my mountains
Has the invisible piper standing quietly by.

Now
Born by a kiss and called up by Cupid
None can be undone.
Outside of the impartial
Neither good nor bad
Clouds carry messages
Humanity cannot speak
Soft as freedom
Raining upon us
Wet with fear.

So I am reaped
Pulled from the edge of the evasive
By a lover in his own defining twilight.
This eternal synergy
Crisp as a winter landscape
Scraping through narrow streets
Gathers me to a gift where
Plucked from my will and
Broken by tenderness
I woken change
In hue, point, pitch and power
Always gleaning, surrendering,
Dreaming
The night‘s unraveling flower.
