In Me You Shall Remain Poem by Venkatesh Jagannathan

In Me You Shall Remain

Rating: 4.5

In my heart lies the warm feeling of my covey
In the warmth of that flock, my memory swayed
Giggled endlessly on those teaser jokes
Bright noon till darkness of twilight it stayed

We were born to meet each other
On that day when the sun was smiling and sky was clear
you may squint and fall as if you’re choking, making fun
but you knew that deep inside, its true isn't it my dear

Your conviction to pull me to exhaustion
To challenge my words, question my reason
Motivate my actions, Sooth my pains
When i cried to you in confession

Gather around and kill time with sheer joy, no worry around
Irrespective of whom you are, what you are
I cared for you all the time, knowing no bounds
Held your arm and twirled round and round and round

On a day i woke up from this sweet dream
A pain ran across, Good bye time was near in this haughty realm
Said goodbye with laughter and delight
Still remember your hold, detached though i may seem

Today i am no scarce in lucre
Grown-up in words and gentle in attire
Unaware of the falling of those rupee notes from hands
I look upto horizon, if you are somewhere near

Change is the goal of this game
We are not what we were time is not the same
But this buddy does not complain
Venky writes to each of his friend, In me you shall remain
In me you shall remain

This was quite a beautiful poem. Everyone that leaves you is always in you, it seems like a beautiful glint of hope that even if our beloved ones never meet us they're always with us. There is such an amazing connection between you, your family and this person you love. There's a depth here unlike any of the poems I've ever written, which are always quite observant and speculative of a large picture, so that's why I liked this a lot.

Today i am no scarce in lucre Grown-up in words and gentle in attire Unaware of the falling of those rupee notes from hands I look upto horizon, if you are somewhere near Please poet no need of looking up at the horizon, just look within you, just dip within your breath, just catch hold within the tips of your nail. Who He is so dear, can't live so far. Need a bit belief. Notes are not necessary object to touch Him, so let it drop, you have your own soul yet, so strength is there. Alive..and Alive is the last word to utter. Beautiful writing. You have crafted an age with its passions and agony very skillfully. Write more.....Live long..... Regards, 10++ pranab
