In Memory Of Poem by Carol DeFrancesco

In Memory Of

Looking back on yesterday,
when I could reach out and touch your hand.
Now time has taken your life,
which in this universe is but one grain of sand.
How untimely your hour had arrived,
it just didn't seem to be real.
In my mind your death it thrived,
my sorrow I tried to conceal.
Day by day I pass your room,
it leaves me in such despair,
to stare inside the lonely gloom wishing you were there.
I often wonder if you've reached a destination,
have your mind and your soul been set free?
As I sit here in desolation longing for your company.
Still time has left me drifting,
amidst this wild confusion.
Will the time we meet again my Brother,
be at my life's conclusion?
