In Moments Like These

In moments like these,
my soul longs for days past.
In moments like these,
I wish to escape to the never before.
In moments like these,
spirit engulfed by sorrows unknown.
In moments like these,
self is too loud I can hardly hear 'Me'.
In moments like these,
I cry from pain never felt.
In moments like these,
I wish for joy once experienced; in moments never before.
I hope for endless laughter; impossible.
I bleed without a wound.
And my knees quiver from a burden unseen,
