In My Head Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

In My Head

Beautiful picture
You were a work of art
I would see something
And it just wasn't there
Entangled in the web of reverie
Loss of time, loss of energy
My imagination's a temptation
Seek paradise found trouble
Consumed in inferno of trouble
Beautiful picture
a fate to beware
Love of a vision
sweeps me away like air
Entangled in the web of reverie
Loss of time, loss of energy
I look at you, yeah,
I have created you
But translating the message
is so frustrating
We speak a different language
Neither one could figure out
Wanted you to be
what you would never be
Wanting something that's tangible
What I crave would let me down
When I realize they were fallible
There was some potential
didn't check credentials
Oh yeah, that's an issue
Why would I do this to myself?
Can't put the blame on no one else
Cause I did it to myself
