In My Hotel Room Poem by Justin Gildow

In My Hotel Room

In my hotel room
The night has taken over for the afternoon

Switching the lights on
I lay on the bed
With a pillow under my head
And daydream for a while
While feeding happy thoughts into my head
Making me smile

I turn the TV on
And flip through the channels
Doing that for a few minutes

Getting up off my bed
I walk over to the glass door
I open it and step out into the night
Feeling the chill of the night
Yet somehow I feel everything's alright
At least for tonight

Back in my hotel room
I sit in a chair with a foot rest for my feet
And I pull out my journal and pen
And I write poem after poem
Feeling proud of my writings tonight
