' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' In The Dark Of The Light

Rating: 2.6

She could only sleep
with the light on

being blind herself
she could not see it

but could feel it
on her skin

its presence
comforting her

as she lay in her darkness
basking in the light

I besdie her
blinded by the light

unable to go to sleep

longing for the darkneess
to comfort me

erasing the world
blurring it to sleep

before turning it
into dream.

Light can be a curse and a comfort, to me it is a comfort and as I age it seems I am more afraid of the dark. Ruthie
