In The Footsteps Of An Addict Poem by Phillip Knox

In The Footsteps Of An Addict

Follow me in the footsteps of an addict
to the streets of crack haven avenue
tortured souls falling blind, erratic
looking through mirrors of glass tubes.
Emotions like stone walls, hardened faces
having pipe dreams, the bliss
taking flight on wings to distant places,
the sweetend lips of crack babies;
bemused, she sells her jewels from hell
sex sales and silent mourns
at the bottom of wells faces lie
in nights of dreamless scorn.
Follow me in the footsteps of an addict
with the pipe in their hand,
and watch them blaze to the sunset skies
no fear of death's brand.
A captive of crime for the product
pages burn in diaries of lust
in the footsteps of an addict
where life is always tragic.

Phillip Knox, Everyday we are seeing addicts of various grade at various age. Even the rehabilitated drug addicts sometimes go for the high, the moment thay are released from the center. How effective are our rehabilitation programs? Very sad poem indeed.
