In The Place Poem by Dorsey Baker

In The Place

They roll around
in their wheelchairs
up and down
the hallways
trying to evade the nurses
coming after them
they know
that the nurses are going to
try to flush medicine
into their system
its for their own good!
but some of them have been
medicated so long
and they are tired of the medicine
its crazy!
but some of them
they think
they can really get away!
In their wheel chairs
some of them go fast
some of them go slow
aint no speed limit
to obey
they don't have to
drive safely
some of them spend
long hours
staring into the mirror
at their big noses
exaggerated by
their shrinking faces!
