In This Rapture Poem by Christopher White

In This Rapture

Rating: 5.0

I will cleanse my soul in this rapture
To replace the agony of a thousand goodbyes,
Spoken by the memories of you.
In another world,
On a better day.

I have found atonement this night,
To greet my smile after a lousy past
Spent in my desolate mind
In a previous life,
Under a worried sky.

I want to awake from this subtle trance
To assure myself I exist
So I can find redemption
On this final night,
In my lonely life.

But you are frozen,
With your head on the pillow
And your mind on the world.
