In Wait Poem by Minnie Gehrig

In Wait

I waited all day to hear from you,
some broken lines,
or a discarded poem,

so hungry am I for your sweet poetry,
a taste of your soul,
like the necter of the gods,

give me your eternal life,
sing to me in your voice,
not sweetly but truthfully,

for my ear, my tounge, and my soul lie here waiting,
for you to fall upon us!
