Incompetently Speaking Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Incompetently Speaking

There are those in positions.
Dashing to make irrational decisions.
To close down this and that.
With a stopping to prevent,
Common sense and its existence.

Then later to say,
Within hours without delay...
Such decisions to make,
Were not intended.
Or meant to take place.
If no date was stated.
And others responsible,
Should have known what was announced...
Had not yet been solidified to anticipate.
To then blame and accuse,
An announcement heard to make.
On others rushing to judgement.
Too quick to repeat,
What they assume had been heard to say.
Before accepting without facts.
That which was stated.
But should have awaited to relay it.

"Uh...
What should we take away.
From this announcement made? "
Heard to say by one,
Packing a wicker picnic basket.
After attending this event.
Anticipated by everyone.

-The linen napkins.
The emptied bottles of wine.
And don't forget the tomatoes.
I was hoping to throw.
But you know,
I am glad I changed my mind.-

"Why is that? "

-Why waste good tomatoes to throw,
At someone who will decide,
They will pose with them.
Believing to throw them as a compliment.
Then to have their 'fans' recommend,
Using those tomatoes as a decision to make...
Them the national fruit.-

"Hmmm...
Now 'that' to accept,
Would have been more believable to understand."

-I know.
That's why I decided,
Not to give them that opportunity.
They do enough as it is,
To stroke their own ego.-
