Inexcusable Violence Poem by Hebert Logerie

Inexcusable Violence

Why so much violence?
Why so much hatred?
Why so much intolerance?
Why so much apartheid?
We forget who we are
We are constantly at war
With our friends, our neighbors
Our siblings and the strangers
We always want to fight
We don't seek the light
Which can illuminate our humanity
Our intellect and our sanity.

We do not care about the others
We kill them because they are the trespassers
Because they are the villains and the aggressors
We find all types of reasons and excuses
To inflict, on them: pain, sanctions, and abuses
We insult the Police
The Police use brutalities
There is no peace, no justice
We cause countless fatalities
For strange reasons, for stupid excuses
We humiliate, we discriminate
We lynch, we maim, and annihilate
We invent all types of abuses
To showcase our prowess, our powers.

Too much inexcusable violence
Let's stop the shooting spree
Love is cheap, love is free
Hate is expensive
Hatred is offensive
Too much unnecessary nuisance.
