Insecure Poem by Ansha Truter

Insecure

When you observe her closely
You see that she has written this book.
This book is self-entitled...fear!

You will find her hiding out, demarcating herself from the world
Because closeness threatens.
It promises disappointment

An internal pain.
Deep down in places where torches cannot ever bring light.
'Cause light might bring tears to the eyes
But also gives those with sight, insight to your soul.

And she knows too well that a soul exposed, is like standing naked.
shy.vulnerable
To those who prey on such weak moments to strip you even way deeper than removing clothes pubicly.
Leaving you high.
Removing your gravity
Then watching you free-fall at a velocity of 9.8 meters per second
And when you finally hit rock bottom?
You are left alone, to pick up the pieces. The splints.
Like glass, you are shattered.
