Inside The Rock Poem by Jessica Amburgey

Inside The Rock

Rating: 5.0

A silent ticking of the soul
haunting memories will not let me go.

Once tender words echoes in my ear
the loneliness of my thoughts now bring fear.

To remember the look of a loving glance
somehow this fool would take the chance.

With words I never spoke before
words I shall repeat no more.

A throbbing pain into my heart
of your deceit I became a part.

Your misplaced words, in my misplaced mind
still haunts my heart thousands of times.

A silence yet an echo no one could know
a cold, bitter heart he left as he turned to go.

As if the water inside the rock
I became his stepping block.

Inside I'm frozen, outside waiting to crack
the road I'm on there's no turning back.
