Inspirations Poem by Hirushi Jayasekera

Inspirations

Stop at a point in time
To reflect and wonder
If the picture I paint tonight
Will show us the light

Or is it that I have been programmed
On the inside
Channeled to do the right?
Well then, what’s right

Is to let go of it all and sing
My heart out tonight
Versus serving mankind
Intertwined in such binding colours
That to paint one picture
And not the other goes without option

Of a picture within a picture
On a canvas within a canvas
Of a splash of ink thrown from afar
Of a bush stroke intricately trace a road
Amongst this whirlwind of colour
To produce at any rate an abstract
And hope

It seizes the light
When it shines too bright
