Integrities With Dignities Crushed Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Integrities With Dignities Crushed

Stacked upon backs packed.
An abundance of baggage.
Spilling over with guilt.
Yet...
There had been a time,
Forgiveness given if admitted wrongs...
Were admitted to do.
To lighten loaded shoulders.
Now openly witnessed in public view.

Even those deluded,
Can not avoid the evidence and proof.
Gone is the need for speculation.
Gone from minds erased.
Along with accusations.
And allegations to make.

Stacked upon backs packed,
Goes to be noticed a lack of trust.
Or any attempts to reveal,
An honesty to have had it.
With a willingness to let go,
Of an innocence to pretend...
The definition and meaning.

And 'why' as the sky is blue,
So many will allow themselves...
A showing of their loyalty.
Just to prove to another...
Behind the wheel of a bus,
Awaiting as if to anticipate...
Whose loyalty confessed,
Will be next to experience...
The effects of having,
Their integrities with dignities...
Crushed!

"Sssss...ooo...ouch!
Ooo...ouch! "

And...
To volunteer it!

"Ooo...ouch! "
