Interstices...
interstices...
the spaces between...
manifest rhythm
by skipping a beat.
a lattice of cadence
gives meaning to sound;
patterns of emptiness
dancing with tone.
like seas between continents
outline the shore,
or one note to other ones
melody forms.
taciturn absence
by similar means,
highlighting moments
of proximity;
renders a rhythm,
a pattern of heart,
of coming together - then
dancing apart.
maintains definition
by skipping a beat.
by interstices -
the spaces between.

There's a lot of artful language in this poem. It's such a musical poem. Are you musical? 'like seas between continents outline the shore, or one note to other ones melody forms.' I chose that verse because of the reference to forming a melody- but in truth choosing one over another verse isn't possible because it's all genius and it fits together like an Egyptian pyramid- can't even squeeze a credit card in between the elements; so perfectly is it composed.
