Into Ruin Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Into Ruin

Into ruin

Life, otherwise, is incomplete
No one competes
And relates in earnest
And think of best

In pursuit of wealth
The health deteriorated
When time comes to enjoy fruit!
The taste has gone and does not suit

So was the case in past
The kings rushed fast
But could not complete their desire
It has led to satire

See the case of Bahadur Shah Zafar
Last of the Mughal Ruler and emperor
He could not get even place for his burial
Such was tale of an unfortunate individual

The civilization improves upon
Sometimes it is left behind when new land is won
Mighty ruler builds new capital
The time proves it fatal (turns into ruins)
