Into The Sunshine Poem by Barry Pook

Into The Sunshine

She walked a rocky path,
Been left with the aftermath,
Trying to climb the mountain,
To reach the refreshing fountain.

Obstacles are the worst competition,
Temptations, vices are their definition,
Blocking thoughts and great pain,
Unfortunately always back soon again.

Living in a depressive hole,
Difference is now her goal,
A place of safety first,
Stopping feeling at her worst.

Having final peace of mind,
Leaving a previous life behind,
Getting proper help and care,
Earlier mistakes she's quite aware.

She sees a little spark,
Walking away from the dark,
Finds a place called home,
Stops the need to roam.

A bright smile now stays,
A life again full of praise,
Another chance, its a breeze,
Strong once more - at ease.

Deserving of happiness and fun,
Laying joyfully in the sun,
Getting there makes her sing,
All down to her, everything.
