Intoxicated Poem by Naveed Akram

Intoxicated

Your intoxicated soul is like your mind,
The inner light draws nearer to the heart.
In the secret of existence there lies an aim,
The mysteries of the world are in silence.
Your ambitious mind brings new thoughts,
Travelling away from the axis of your soul.
This leads to transmissions and emissions
Of greater light, the feeding frenzy of this globe.
Your swearing of oaths confers with the magical
Numbers, and fortunate proposals, but where
Is the majesty of your call? Who is the majestic?
My mind is made up and it resolves matters now.

Let the faith bind our modesty, tonight it merges
With the purity of the burdensome few, the stories
Of times in turmoil and true happiness, so felicity now
Shakes its hand with your own highness and majesty.
For each of our families are royal households, when
Enlightened by the times and rigours of current life.
