Invisible Whips Poem by Anita Atina

Invisible Whips

Leaving behind
Disappointment and the loss
Of what could be
But has not come to pass
Is difficult

These invisible whips
Lash unforgiving
Till we accept the pain
As a natural outcome
Of the choices we made

No one is to blame for the pain
But ourselves
For refusing to see
What now seems obvious
But was fogged out, with love
