Inviting Doubts Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Inviting Doubts

Staying to remain observant.
With a listening first to comprehend.
Before jumping to conclusions.
Inviting doubts to double the trouble.
To end an understanding.
That had not a chance to begin.
Perhaps it is the aging one does.
That develops more patience and tolerance.
To know that jumping to conclusions,
Seldom results...
Without someone starting a senseless argument.
To then pretend,
Words to hear but not from another spoken.
Had by them was perceived to be said.
But instead attempted to use reverse psychology.
By closing their eyes.
And bowing to low,
In disbelief a shaking head.
