Ireland, Land I'Ve Never Seen (Song) Poem by Kathleen West

Ireland, Land I'Ve Never Seen (Song)

Rating: 3.2

There is a land I dream of
A land so far away
It's held my heart since I was young
And still does to this very day

It began with songs from my father
And traditions that means so much now
Our pride in all that is irish
Makes us closer to Ireland somehow

I want to be there when a summer storm breaks out!
And next, when the sun beguiles
This lovely land called Ireland
The beautiful emerald isle

Chorus

Her heroes are the bravest
And her songs they are the sweetest
And her lands they are the greenest
This dear old erins isle

And in this land so far away
This land I've never seen
I feel I am a part of
Even though I've never been

It's a feeling I hold way down deep inside
And it's so strong that I cannot hide it
And I wouldn't for I feel pride in it!
I love you Ireland

Her heroes are the bravest
And her songs they are the sweetest
And her lands they are the greenest
This dear old erins isle.

I wrote this song many years ago. I have since been to Ireland several times, and was not disappointed in the least. My love for Ireland and all that is irish was instilled by my father long ago, and is still alive in my heart! Happy St. Patricks Day!
