Is It Worth It

Beauty is destroyed beautifuly
and life is slaughtered Gracefuly
By fishermen searching the seas
and lumberjacks longing to cut down trees

Like death of animals and plants
has human life degraded to that,
of beautifuly orchastrated rants
on life of some enemy

So have humans degraded
to a speices that relies on
the murder of creatures out of greed
When we could look at beauty
for who we are going to be! !

poet Christina Georgina Rossetti

Go from me, summer friends, and tarry not:
I am no summer friend, but wintry cold,
A silly sheep benighted from the fold,
A sluggard with a thorn-choked garden plot.
