Is Your Life So Boring Poem by Francis Duggan

Is Your Life So Boring

Is your life so boring that you must celebrate
The success of your hero a true sporting great
One who does not know you or you never may meet
And one with a big ego brought on by self conceit
My life too must be boring I dwell on the big game
I feel if my team loses in the big final life for me won't ever again be the same
Though the result of the game will not add to or detract from my financial state
Suppose in our boring lives we need something for to celebrate
In most of us there is parochial pride
To the colour of a club's jersey our loyalties are tied
And yet many of our heroes seem ordinary indeed
people who are obsessed with their desire to succeed
You do seem so boring as boring as me
And in your reflection my own self I do see.
