Isles Of Fleet (A Group Of Islands In The Fleet Bay, Galloway, Scotland) Poem by john (called jack) wren

Isles Of Fleet (A Group Of Islands In The Fleet Bay, Galloway, Scotland)

Rating: 3.0

Sweetest of Isles I look at thee
nestled in yonder turbulent sea
shining like diamonds every day
guarding the entrance of the bay

I stand in awe at your battered face
and watch sea birds as they race
to take their shelter from the storm
until the welcoming light of dawn

Many have passed you in different tongue
some proud and bold, old and young
there must be numerous tales to tell
if only one had time to dwell

Roar on, you unforgiving waves
roar on, as you pound the shore
these Isles have stood many a year
and will stand many a year more.
