It Fell Out Of My Hand Poem by Vera Sidhwa

It Fell Out Of My Hand

Rating: 3.5

I held an ice-cream cone,
Which fell out of my hand.
I tried to pick it up,
But the melted ice-cream did land,
On the sidewalk you see.

I pinched some cotton-candy,
Which oozed out of my hand.
The blue and pink colors,
On the sidewalk did land.
I couldn't pick it up to eat it you see.

I spit out some chewing gum,
And it landed on the ground.
The plants around it must've wondered,
What that was all about.

I was a fun kid you know.
I liked being fast,
Even though it ended-up,
In a mess at last.

I liked the last stanza of your poem. The preceding stanzas being a kind of fun, the last one ends in a sad note. That makes it a good poem- the contrast. I wonder if the words 'Felt Out' in the title should be 'Fell Out', as the text of the poem suggests.
