It Mattered Poem by Ruth Kamasungua

It Mattered

Rating: 5.0

I withdrew just to see if it doesn't matter
The clouds gathered
And the sky darkened
It was a tearful
And a mournful time
For my soul
To hang on the verge
Of the tip of the fence
The lights went out
The temperature went below zero
My hands and feet grew numb
The rain fell in torrents
And the sun refused to shine
Causing me to rethink again
Maybe it mattered
So I gathered the pieces
And patched things up again
Realizing my gruesome error
That would cost my joy
And sanity
Then the sun did shine once more
And the rain ceased
And the lights came on
The temperature became normal
The sky brightened up
And I realized that it did mattered
After all
