It's For You To Decide Poem by Lucas Miganda

It's For You To Decide

There's a difference between embracing your tribe and using it as an excuse to commit a crime...

You claim to be high and mighty but you forget religion says all men are the same before the almighty...

How can you take the life of your fellow man just because he's from a different clan...

How can you turn ancestors source of identity into your source of profanity...

Wasn't it tribalism that turned us against each other in 08? ...

Wasn't it the same tribalism that took away our dignity and sealed our fate...

But yet we still use it, without feeling any regret..
We walk with our noses in the air quick to forget our previous state...

We pass down this hate to our sons and daughters like.'it's your birthday' have some hate'..
Never realising that in the process we've yet again sealed our fate...

This nation will never see peace not unless we find peace within our selves...

May God forgive us all, as we begin another race...
