It's Only Mere Words (Refrain Stanza) Poem by Gert Strydom

It's Only Mere Words (Refrain Stanza)

It's only mere words that I write to you
when in each poem I claim love that is true.
What do remain when everything becomes transience,
when words are lost, even from my conscience,
but through darkness in my heart you leave every clue
as you are more than just in my memory,
you are my wife and forever dear to me,
you are my ray of sun when my days are blue
when in each poem I claim love that is true.
