Jealousy Poem by Stanley Joseph Vinet Jr. Vinet

Jealousy

I'm jealous of the wind that dances through your hair; I'm jealous of the rain that's caresses your skin.

I'm jealous of the water that touches your lips; I'm jealous of the silk next to your hips.

I'm jealous of the pages that feel your touch; I'm jealous of the stories held close to your heart.

I'm jealous of the whispers that reach your ears; I'm jealous of the secrets they softly share.

I'm jealous of the tears that run down your cheeks; I'm jealous of the fingers that stroke them dry.

I'm jealous of the daylight that warms your smile; I'm jealous of the rays of the sun that dance in your eyes.

I'm jealous of the night that holds you in its embrace; I'm jealous of the moon that has seen you bare.

I'm jealous of the stars that watch over your dreams; I'm jealous of the constellations that map your desires.

I'm jealous of the moments that steal your time away; I'm jealous of the memories created without me each day.

But amidst this jealousy that consumes my heart, I find solace in knowing that I'm a part of your world.

For even in my envy, I am blessed to witness your beauty, to share in your journey, and to love you from afar.
