Jerry With The Laughing Eyes Poem by Ardella Rae Campbell

Jerry With The Laughing Eyes

Life is not the same without him, but I have to go on anyway,
and when I look toward heaven, I believe what I am seeing will be.
I see rainbows up above, moonbeams filled with love,
The sky so full of doves, and Jerry with the laughing eyes.
I see sunshine and stars, moonlight and Mars,
Diamonds in the sky, and Jerry with the laughing eyes.
I see fields so full of wheat, snow all white and sleek,
Flowers all in bloom, and Jerry with the laughing eyes.
I see night time turn to day, a path to the milky way,
Angels that guide the light, and Jerry with the laughing eyes.
I see love and amazing grace, and only the human race,
Trees and a waterfall, and Jerry with the laughing eyes.
I see mended hearts so pure, and happiness for sure,
Fireworks the Fourth of July, and Jerry with the laughing eyes.
I see football and baseball too, Babe Ruth up at bat,
a homerun hit for you, and Jerry with the laughing eyes.
I see Christmas trees so tall, stockings hanging from the wall,
Thanksgiving and birthdays too, and Jerry with the laughing eyes.
I see God with outstretched arms, wonder and not harm,
Santa Claus and Easter bunny too, and Jerry with the laughing eyes.
