Joshua Leads The People Poem by Doris Clore Demaree

One of the strangest stories
In the Bible
Is how Joshua captured Jericho.
'Let seven priests
With seven horns
Lead the way,' said Joshua.
Behind the priests came the ark
With the ten commandments.
And behind the ark
All the other men marched.
It was like a parade.
For six days they marched.
On the seventh day they marched seven times.
The priests blew their horns.
Everybody shouted.
And the city walls came tumbling down.
