Journey Poem by Ruth Game

If it hadn't been your love for me
I'd walk astray in all my ways
Terrified and broken down
I'd be a soul not to be found

I'd stumble upon the broken roads
And ask the way from wandering souls
Who walk in darkness day and night
Searching for that one bright light

Some go right and some go left
Some just follow all the rest
Some who dare to doubt their quest
Would certainly not be ones to rest

I was in doubt and could not hear
The winds that blew across my ear
They pointed to the path I feared
For not many had wandered there

Against the winds I turned my sail
And tried to fight though big thick waves
I tried but every time I failed
Perhaps it just wasn't my day

Weeks and months, then years passed by
But nothing seemed to change my tide
Still stranded I stood with tired eyes
It's hopeless I cried oh God pass by

Again you turned the winds that way
I was determined not to sail
I jumped in to the deep blue sea
For I had decided to rest my case

I saw you walk on water that day
You reached to me and I was safe
Yousaid my child that is the way
I argued Lord I want my way

How did you feel? I had no care
For I was just a wondering soul
In search of light I dug so deep
That I forgot my destiny

But child; you said, that's not the way,
You asked in prayer everyday
To give you signs and show the way.
My child the winds were signs I made

I told the tides to get you through
The wind I told to guide u well
I even turned your sail around
But by these signs, you still weren't bound.

Perhaps you lost your faith in me
Or maybe you just doubted me
But I am here to walk you through
Be brave my child and only believe

Don't stop to see what others do
For what they do is not for you
Your calling is to be my child
To walk the way to eternal life

Oh Lord it's hard this Way is long
Don't worry my child I'm walking along
And when you're tired just lean on me
For every day I'll give new wings

Oh Lord we're here the gates I see
Oh thank you Lord I now am free
I understand oh Lord I see
You planned it all ahead of me

You beat me to it once again
Your love for me will never end
When I was starting to fear again
You showed me through, it's well again
