Judgement Day Poem by Rhonda Middleton

Judgement Day

The cloud still lingers, no word from the broken
We're still waiting, to see if the judge has spoken
The knots I carry, are twisted and swollen
Thinking of dreams for her, of days not stolen

Hold on little man, stuck in the middle too
Your mother is beside herself, and doesn't know what to do
She's hiding, crying, and wondering how to protect you
From the hands of the monster, who is intentionally cruel

She dreams of the day, the judge vindicates her
Breaks down the lies, so the truth is clear
She's waiting for that moment, to dry your tears
Heal her heart, to look forward to future years

Hold on little man, stuck in the middle too
Not much longer, the judgment is overdue
When it arrives, it will be all about you
Always know, mommy words are true
