Just A Dream Poem by Keelie Smith

Just A Dream

she sees herself walking down the aisle toward the safety of his love. she knows she is making the right choice....A sudden BANG rings through the peaceful church, leaving only a silence filled with pain. a moment of shock as screams echo in the empty room. tears swim and stain her eyes, mascara runs down her cheeks. her heart races as she watches him hit the floor. she could do nothing, his last breath dies out slowly as she rushes to him and caresses his face gently and tells him she loves him.
the EMS rush in. she holds his limp body close and unwilling to let them take her one and only love. her ivory dress stained with crimson. she let out a piercing shriek as she snaps back to reality sitting up so fast that her head hurt. she was numb all over. her fingertips were tingly. she flexed her hands out and looked over at him lying there next to her. realizing it was only a dream, but still fearful the he would not be there. in the moonlit night he was as radiant as the sun. his even breath calmed her. the night mare that had been haunting her for her entire life could finally be set free...
