Just An Acquaintance Poem by Francis Duggan

Just An Acquaintance

Rating: 5.0

On my feelings one can say he was a bit tough
When he told me my rhymes were old fashioned and rough
In his opinions he did not bring joy to my day
But then such is life as the wise one does say
Than feeling angry with him i have better sense
Though his remarks to me did come with offense
His negative opinions i could have done without
As they further eroded my sense of self doubt
But since i am one with rhyming words who does love to play
Because of a few negative remarks i will not be giving rhyming away
Just an acquaintance i happened to chat to on the street
That i do know of but does not often meet
But in his words he did not bring joy to my day
You win some and lose some in life as they say.
