Just Care Poem by Marilyn Jean

Just Care

Once, only Once in all these years
Was Valentine celebrated here
Our old friend wrote something
Posted it in the morning deadline
Then called to my office's door
Lets celebrate a submitted project
We both went laughing for lunch
Pretending we did not know why
The waiter asked if a rose was desired
As it was Valentine's day
I said it was not when asked
But I had such a nice friend once
And for a few years here
Who knew and understood my pain
And I still miss him so much
Not as I miss you daily
But because he just cared
And I need care and friendship
