Kamikase Shunt Poem by Clare McWilliams

Kamikase Shunt

A turning point in time
Affects my inner rhyme
I'm scribbling a present to my mind

To relieve it of it's pain
Like a shunt from abstract brain
A necessary medicine it is.

I hope you'll understand
I'm feeling over-manned
So stories of my selves must come to light.

Splitting straight from my head
To the page they are wed
KamiKase thoughts explode into a verse.

Shooting out from the dark
Leaving my unique mark
In a world where I am nothing but a pawn

They build there silently
And become my enemy
Until they decide it's time to come alive

Ignoring timetable
Of life that is stable
Creating outer versions of madness.

Artistic license
Is my recompense
For discord and detatchment from the world.

Lovely literary earth
Is my right from birth
A genetic defect I cannot fix

But I wouldn't want to
To thine own self be true
Find connection in the moments that you're YOU.
