Mother Poem by Clare McWilliams

Mother

Rating: 5.0

Mother why did you go?
I needed you, selfish I know,
Gone to do anothers work?

Watching me crying,
Comforting me but unable to be there.
Watching me fall apart
Scolding me with pearls of wisdom
You left in my head.

Watching me at my lowest
Willing me to get up
As I watched you do
Watching me take my first steps again
Smiling with pride as always.

Watching me succeed
But unable to hug me
Watching me alone
I remember you're here,
Here in my mind.

I smile- lucky to have known you.
