Keep On Being Creative! Poem by Denis Martindale

How right it is to serve with faith, creative day and night,
How right it is to serve and save, creative through insight.
Consider Nature in its prime, each winsome butterfly,
Each peacock posing so sublime, and certainly not shy.
Consider God designing things, such wonders great and small,
And choosing prophets, scribes and kings, their talents to install.

Consider David and his psalms, the harp to play as well,
Such that sweet music softly calms each sorrow to dispel.
A billion songs have since been penned, a billion poems, too,
And more will come, on that depend, yet dear friend, what of you?
A painting, or a photograph, a book that leads to Christ?
A clever joke to make us laugh, a sculpture highly prized?

When I was but a little child, four lovebirds I portrayed,
A precious painting gently styled with colours that won't fade.
And there's a painting of the Lord I cherish to this day!
Creative joys can't be ignored, so share these, come what may!
