Kenosis Poem by Gert Strydom

Kenosis

In His emptying from God to man,
where his cloak was bright white like light
He came to be tortured and cursed,
He came against sin as the balance
and His whole humanity was something reverently sincere
when He hanged sinless on Golgotha
with all of us accessory for His death
and the Roman soldiers were scared
as mere men they were caught
like followers of the dark snake.
