Khaddhardharis,
How were they,
How simple,
How stubborn,
How much Gandhian,
How much not,
They were simple as Gandhi,
But were not,
Could they ever rise above
As were men,
Sometimes compromised they,
Sometimes not,
Appeared to be stiff and tougher
And they wore it khadi clothes,
But did they weave yarn
Or making people wear
The half-clothed masses,
But how little they would have,
Had the mills of foreign not supplied?
I cannot.
