King Poem by Nikia Tate

King

King
Tehuti knows you, my current muse, though not yet awake. I sit in wonderment, almost forgetting my slumber was this time late. Though initially roused early on, innerstanding just begun. So sad to see one displaced by his own lack of knowing. So focused on another, with her superficial showing. I kissed your brow, hoping to spark the memories of what you are. With no obvious effect taken, even after I was left shaken. Quick to move, as I already knew you. So accustomed to wearing a mask, I see. Your better senses blinded to the whole of me. I know we've gone through this before. You think to hard, and choose the wrong door. Tears gathered and drank by me, waste not want not, with these words I agree. Yet another lifetime, it won't be us two. Loves place in my heart I hold here for you. Here at my throne, I wait as your queen. Come, fill this empty space beside me. I await you, my king.
