Know, You're Surrounded By Bliss! Poem by Liza Sud

Know, You're Surrounded By Bliss!

He has worshiped a woman -
so small woman and stupid,
so beautifel and kind,
He served an idol - cupid!

That was a stupid man.
He lost the sense of God,
His radiance, His staircases,
his rainbows, love to the crazy.

He was obssessed by this one woman
And when she turned he head away -
of course he felt dark in his brains,
since to the light he was not moving.

Do I consider all love stupid?
Not in the meaning of good deeds.
But when you feel that you are losing -
know, you're surrounded by bliss!

This strikes me as a harsh poem. I read it several time and I could not shake that first impression. B-U-T every human experience is unique and you say something important about each personality: The man is in the grip of an obsession and such love is usually selfish in motive; it's not a union of equals, but the satisfaction of his exaggerated needs. Such a love does not bring inner peace but increasing turmoil. The woman is described as SMALL AND STUPID. Ouch! This infatuation cannot last! This is not a truthful love which will fulfill the partners as they show kindness and fidelity to each other and make them better human beings. That's what marriage is supposed to be but so often we fall short of the ideal.
