Knox County Homesteaders Poem by John McCornack

Knox County Homesteaders

From far away countries, they came as family teams
Each filled with a bushel of expectations and dreams
They all build barns and homes, usually with a porch
From these people came ones who carried the torch

For these were the homesteaders that led the way
The ones who make America a great country today
People that were trained in expert use of the horse
These are the pioneers who set the American course
