Lakin Poem by Randy McClave

Lakin

I am now moving on
No longer am I your pawn,
Indeed I expected loyalty
But, never was I treated as royalty.
I will not accept you back
Remembrance I do not lack,
How horrible you say I am
Now, I don't give a damn.
I will still move forward
With my personality and not a sword,
Happiness is going to be my fate
So, I will say to you, "Checkmate"!
Your hate and your lies I will not take
To nightmares I will not awake,
Do not expect again to put me down
I now wear a crown.
