Late Night T.V. Poem by Victor Matthews

Late Night T.V.

Rating: 4.3

Late night T.V.,
Is what I look forward to.
These days.
The rest of my time,
Well,
Is pretty much,
sulking, sitting, supposing,
And, well,
sulking some more, I guess.

I wait too.
Waiting is another
BIG part.
I wait like there’s no tomorrow.
But there is.
So,
I wait all through tomorrow too.

Better things to do
glare at me,
ALL through the house.
Letting me know, I’m useless.
I feel useless.
But I’m not useless!
Inanimate objects haven’t got the right!
To make me feel useless.

I did the laundry today.
That was useful,
I was useful.
I am useful.
In between commercials,
Naps, and snacks,
That is.

But I’ve made my choice.
Deep down,
I like to be bored.
And I like to be lonely.
